Most users expect the vendor to have a synopsis, along with the requrements to run the software, ON THEIR DOWNLOAD PAGE so they can avoid downloading and reading lengthy help files if the software is not appropriate to their system.

I didn't realize there were folks here who actually download and read all software help files BEFORE they install the software. I guess Microsoft only writes stuff for insensible people who can't think clearly because Microsoft did NOT say to download to disk and then read the help guide before installing the software.

WithOUT any indication from Microsoft that it was mandatory to FIRST download the help guide and then read it before installing the software, I did the SENSIBLE thing.

I would have had to download the help guide and then scan it with my antivirus and then finally open in in my Evince PDF reader. How would I read the Help guide until I had it installed? I don't practice insecure computer security. The help guide is installed ALONG WITH the software. Why the heck did it install if it won't run? And Microsoft THEN has the gall to merrily suggest I get SP3. NET 2.0, and then I get that (although I really don't want it) and THEN it complains that I have SP2 when I try to open it. Not bothering to state that this tool will notrun on SP2, especially after all it does is object to my not having. The more Microsoft tries to twist my arm to "upgrade" to SP3 the more I will resist. It is disgusting that Microsoft is barring those of us with SP2 from using it. I'm sure this tool would work fine on SP2. But, oh no, Microsoft can't be bothered to state in any of their articles about this tool that it works ONLY on XP SP3. That is the ONLY program opted out so I expected this tool to fix that and then I can run as Always ON for DEP. The ONLY reason I cannot set it to Always On is due to the GUI for ProcessGuard. I guess I should I have known but why wouldn't it be supported? I have hardware DEP with DEP set to Opt Out. I click on it to open it and get a popup that says that the tool is not supported on my version of XP. I install it anyway and it says to immediately install another KB which I go to do but it is for. So, I really want to use this tool but UGH I don't want. NET 2.0 and 3.0 that I finally uninstalled both and currently have only 1.5. I had so many problems over the years with. I try to install it and it won't install. So, I read this thread and I go download it.
